This document explains how to use the asset side drawer to view assets and what information can be viewed.
Users can use the asset side drawer to view asset metadata, lineage, tags, and custom properties assigned to assets without navigating away from the current screen.
If certain information is not viewable, you can request access from the asset side drawer. You can also add comments to assets or metadata.

External Description
For assets of agent data sources and data type BI Data, if a description or comment is registered in the corresponding metadata (such as a dashboard) in your organization's business intelligence service, that information is displayed.
Detailed Metadata
The following detailed metadata and information managed by QDIC are displayed as tabs from left to right in the side drawer. The items and their order vary depending on the asset's data type and asset type.
Child Assets (DB)
For assets with data type DB Data, a list of child assets is displayed in table format. The tab label is the type of child asset. For example, if the asset displayed in the side drawer is a table, the corresponding tab label will be "Column".
- Clicking the physical or logical name of an asset in the table will switch the display to that asset.
- If you do not have access to the displayed asset, the asset name will be shown as
unauthorized, and clicking will not change the display.
The following components are placed above the table:
- [General (Table)] button
When selected, displays general information of child assets in the table. This is selected by default. For details, see Column Tab General (Table). - [Analysis] button
Displayed only if you have access to analysis information. When selected, displays statistical information in the table. For details, see Column Tab Analysis. -
Filter icon
Clicking displays a popup to select which items to show in the table. By default, all items are selected. - [Search] field
Entering a keyword performs a fuzzy search on child assets. Search targets are the physical name, logical name, and description of child assets. The number of search results is displayed above the table. If no keyword is entered, the total number of child assets is displayed.
Child Assets (BI)
For assets with data type BI Data, a list of child assets is displayed in card format. Clicking a child asset switches the display to that asset.
Entering a keyword in the [Search] field performs a fuzzy search on child assets. Search targets are the physical name, logical name, and description of child assets. The number of search results is displayed above the list of child assets. If no keyword is entered, the total number of child assets is displayed.
If you do not have access to the displayed asset, the asset name will be shown as unauthorized, and clicking will not change the display.
External
For assets of agent data sources, information may be obtained from corresponding metadata (such as tables) in your organization's services and displayed as follows (target services are limited):
| Item | Target Service | Description |
| Record Last Updated | Snowflake | Last update date and time of table or column data in Snowflake |
| Sharing Status | Snowflake | Cross-account reference relationships in Snowflake |
| External Tag | Snowflake | Snowflake external tags assigned to the table |
| External Owner | Tableau Power BI |
Owner information registered in BI service metadata |
| External Access Count | Tableau | Number of accesses to BI service metadata |
Whether the following external information is obtained from the service and registered in the catalog is determined by the administrator or environment operator.
- Sharing status displays the cross-reference relationships for databases with data sharing relationships between multiple Snowflake accounts, but only if both databases with the sharing relationship are configured to obtain their sharing relationships from the service.
Example: If the asset (database) DB1 displayed in the side drawer is shared from another asset (database) SALES, the following is displayed. (DB1 is a shared database, and the actual database is SALES.)
Example: If the asset (database) DB1 displayed in the side drawer is sharing to another asset (database) SALES, the following is displayed. (DB1 is the actual database, and SALES is the shared database.)
In the above examples, if there is a corresponding asset for SALES in the catalog, clicking it will switch the display to the Asset side drawer for the SALES asset.
- External tags may not exist in the catalog.
- For Power BI services, external owner information may not exist in the catalog.
Data Layout
If the asset's service is Snowflake and both of the following apply, the data layout is displayed in table format. For the actual configuration in your organization, contact your operator or administrator.
- For
agentdata sources - If the environment operator has set up the connector to obtain data layout
The displayed data layout is an analysis of sampled actual data from corresponding metadata (table or view) in your organization's service (data warehouse), formatted to mimic the data format. Note that it may differ from the actual data.
Analysis
If you do not have access to analysis information, no information is displayed in the tab.
